Day Twenty-nine December 23, 2017
Today I am thankful for being willing to try something different.
I was making candy a couple of days ago – Pumpkin And Cream Cheese Truffles – but the white chocolate just wouldn’t melt properly in my double boiler. Thankfully, I had some unsweetened dark chocolate on hand and mixing the two together resulted in the right consistency for coating the centers.
However, I was left with more chocolate than I needed for the two dozen small candies I had made. In trying to figure out a way not to waste it my husband suggested I try something different. We had marshmallows on hand because we’d had a few cold days on the mountain and I had bought them along with some hot chocolate. Since the melted chocolate had cooled a bit his suggestion of rolling the marshmallows in it worked marvelously.
After letting them sit in the refrigerator for a while we tasted the results of our experiment. Delicious!
A lesson which continues to show up in my life was underscored – don’t be afraid to try something different once in a while you may be surprised at the results.
